See, Fashionable Ro is what you might call a hip hop head. I'd love to take some credit for this; in our early twenties, I dragged her to see The Roots, Blackalicious, Mos Def and the like. But somewhere along the line, her music street cred far outshone my own.
So then, Fashionable Ro suddenly remembered a song she first heard at a one of the dozens of shows she saw last year. The Grouch has this charming little ditty called "Artsy." Watch the awesomeness below.
Did you catch the line around the :26 mark? "You ain't artsier than me cuz you live in Los Feliz/B*tch you ain't Jesus." Another gem around 2:10 "You ain't artsier than me cuz you shop at Whole Foods and open toed shoes." Ha!
I realize, yes, this song kinda pokes fun at, well, me. But I do love it. I think it's wonderfully clever, cheeky and catchy.
Later today, I'm dragging the BF to Ikea to outfit my new home office. I'm in the market for a cork board, magazine racks, file baskets and the like. If you have suggestions, feel free to send them along!

Oh how fun! Ikea is my go-to for office flair. I used the "Komplement" clothes hanger as a bulletin board for my work office. It helps keep my desk a little less papery and keeps my photos pinhole free. ^_^
I totally support Ikea as home office superstore. I fondly recall Ro helping me assemble my very own Ikea desk. As for this weekend, we're under about 15 inches of snow here in DC, so I'm staying in and watching the cars struggle on the 395 outside of my window!
