Last fall, I gave up my car for a bus pass. I try to read a book a week on the bus but mostly I just avoid eye contact with other passengers.

Los Feliz Saturdays vol. 9

Actually, let's dish about Friday, shall we? A co-worker and I started the weekend off right by meeting Fashionable Ro at the Convention Center to scour the goods at the Barneys Warehouse Sale. My first words to Ro were "Take me to DVF!" She did, but unfortunately, all I found in my size (and price range) was a jumper. Not going to happen. However, while in search of DVF for myself, I came across a strapless multi color dress that screamed Ro. It's "officially" a swimsuit cover up (and quite similar to the gem below) but we are going to consider it a dress-dress by throwing on a nude slip underneath.

I scooped up this beautiful plenty by Tracy Reece top for just $60. Such a deal, right?!

Also, Ro kindly offered to purchase this super cute Ella Moss jersey dress for me as a bday/engagement present. Love her!

After the Barneys adventure, Ro and I planned on hitting up Mexico City but sadly, the joint was closed. So, we inhaled fajitas and sipped mojitos and margaritas down the street at Acapulco on Sunset. About an hour later, and feeling a bit tipsy, we ventured over to the nearby Vons to pick up loads and loads of bridal magazines. When I took out my wallet to pay, I realized my debit card was MISSING. Sobered up real fast, btw. I'd just used it at Acapulco so I was convinced it had to still be at there. I ran back to the restaurant and regaled the wonderfully polite hostess with my tale. We walked back to where Ro and I sat.

Polite Hostess: Which one of these guys was your server?
Me: (almost in tears) I don't remember. I was drunk!

Note to self: either beef up alcohol tolerance or use cash while drinking and dining.

Happily, after witnessing my mini meltdown, a sympathetic manager located my missing card. Whew!

8/18 Update: Thanks to Fashionable Ro and my co-worker, I got to enjoy a bus-free afternoon on Friday. Co-worker and I carpooled (in her car, obvs) to the Convention Center and Fashionable Ro kindly drove me to ill fated Acapulco. Also to clarify, Fashionable Ro was completely sober and cool to get behind the wheel. Drinking and driving is not cool. But what is cool are the fantastic Miu Miu wedges co-worker picked up from the Barneys Warehouse Sale; they're quite similar to the beauties below:

I think we'll need to build up your tolerance. Not so much that you'll be downing ten shots in a row, but just enough that one drink (especially a mojito!) won't get you all crazy. You gotta build up for your reception!
How's the location scouting going so far?

Anon (aka Fashionable Ro)-Right?! I need to really man up my tolerance. Think there's anything we can do about that pesky redness that seems to accompany my drinking? Location scouting is tough! We've settled on OC, though.
